In a day-care centre (Kita), many children come into close contact every day – an ideal setting for pathogens and, at the same time, a place where children need particular protection. This comprehensive course (approx. 16 teaching units of 45 minutes each) shows in 12 practical, legally grounded modules how practitioners prevent infections and act correctly in an emergency: the fundamentals of the Infection Protection Act (IfSG), routes of infection and how to interrupt them, the central importance of hand hygiene, reporting and readmission rules under Section 34 IfSG, dealing with common childhood illnesses, hygiene when changing nappies, at mealtimes and in sanitary areas, the setting's hygiene plan, vaccination protection and the Measles Protection Act, and the fundamentals of first aid for children. Each module offers learning objectives, well-founded study text with visualisations, an in-depth section, a case study and a transfer-to-practice exercise. Note: This course provides fundamental knowledge and does not replace a full first-aid course for children or medical advice.
